June Update from Mr. Clark

Hello RMA families,

My hope is that you and your children are Sharpening your Saws and enjoying summer vacation after the completion of a transformational school year in 20-21.  I am so appreciative of all of our stakeholders at RMA for their grit, flexibility, and Synergy by working together and Seeking First to Understand each other.  All of this contributed to a successful school year both academically and socially for our student leaders. As a continuous improvement learning environment, our goal is to grow in all areas each year as a staff and as a campus.  This summer, we are providing staff training to ensure that our RMA teachers and staff have the tools to meet the needs of all RMA students and to support their academic success in our changing educational landscape.  Our awesome staff is so excited to have all of our students back full-time and in-person on campus. We are especially thrilled to return to the supportive, family-oriented culture that makes RMA stand apart from other middle schools as we welcome volunteers and guests safely back to campus.

For the 21-22 school year, RMA will prioritize returning to our engaging, whole-child culture that existed prior to Covid.  We will balance quality instruction, consistency, clear communication, as well as updated safety protocols to ensure both students and staff have clear expectations while feeling valued and supported on campus. The 7 Habits have been essential to the academic and social-emotional success of our students during this challenging year due to Covid.  The 7 Habits also promote a common language for our students and staff and provide highly effective tools for success to use in different situations in school and in life. All students will Begin with the End in Mind in August by working on organization, goal setting, and building positive relationships with their teachers to ensure they set the tone for an awesome school year.

We are asking all students and staff to Be the Leader that they want to see at RMA and in their communities for the 21-22 school year.  I am fully confident that next school year our students and staff will continue to get an inch better each day and contribute to the positive, safe, and engaging learning environment that makes the Rowlett school community so special. Please visit our school website to access important information about summer assignments and other important frequently asked questions. Have a great summer!
