Counselor's Corner

To the parents of 8th grade students,

The guidance department wanted to inform you that RMA school counselor (Joanne Wyar) will be
meeting with your child for about 10- 15 minutes for Academic Counseling during the month on
November. As an effort to prepare your child for High school, she will be discussing the following topics
with your child.
 Middle school and high School requirements for graduation. (Credits)
 The state requirement for Florida State Assessment’s
 Grades and GPA
Last year Mrs. Wyar met with your students as 7th graders and plans to continue this conversation with
them as 8 th graders. The students had many good questions and this year we hope to continue re
enforcing the importance of good study habits and planning for their future education. Students must
be well informed of what is required of them once they get to HS.
If as a parent you have questions about High school please be free to contact our school counselor,
Joanne Wyar at 941-462-4001 extension 2003.
