About Me
Hi! I'm Amy Imerman, and I'm the TV and Film Production teacher at Rowlett Middle Academy.
As a Bradenton native and former TV Production student at Manatee High School, it's especially meaningful for me to teach in the community that inspired my own passion for storytelling. I earned my bachelor's degree in Communications with a specialization in TV and Film from Florida State University before spending nearly 20 years working in television, publishing, and digital media.
My career included an internship with The Late Show with David Letterman, serving as a Senior Producer at MTV Networks on shows including The Real World and The Challenge, and working as an editor for CosmoGIRL! Magazine. I was also honored to receive an Emmy nomination for my work on The Challenge.
At Rowlett, I teach students the art of broadcast journalism and filmmaking while serving as the advisor for RMA Today!, our daily live morning news show, and Owls Outlook, our monthly news magazine. I love watching students grow as storytellers, and I'm incredibly proud that their work has been recognized by organizations including Student Television Network, the Sarasota Film Festival, the All-American High School Film Festival, PBS NewsHour Student Journalism Challenge, and the Jim Harbin Student Media Festival.
My goal is to help students discover their creativity, build confidence, and develop skills that will serve them wherever life takes them.
