Cold Weather Attire: Click for specific information

Important News From Admin

RMA is balancing two issues regarding school uniforms.  They are the health and the safety of all students who attend our school.  Students attending have unique family circumstances.  For instance, a student’s mode of transportation to and from school may differ, as well as what is “cold” to one student is not to another.  With that said, each family must decide the amount or type of apparel worn to school each day to fit their students needs.

1.  A student may wear an RMA uniform shirt in our school colors as outlined in the student handbook

2.  A student may wear an RMA uniform shirt with a long sleeve T-shirt underneath in school colors

3.  A student may wear an RMA uniform shirt with a long sleeve T- shirt underneath in school colors and over that a sweatshirt or cardigan sweater in our school colors with our logo on it.

4.  A student may wear an RMA uniform shirt with a long sleeve Tee shirt underneath in school colors and over that a sweatshirt or cardigan sweater in our school colors with our logo on it and over that an RMA jacket (approved zip up or letterman).

5.  If needed a student may wear a non RMA uniform coat to school, but once he or she is on campus the coat must be removed and not worn until he or she is leaving campus.

There are several school environment differences between our elementary academy and the middle academy.  These differences influence our differences in dress codes.  Our students change classes every 47 minutes 8 times a day.  They are outside walking to each class for a duration of 3 minutes.  The safety issue influences the dress code requirement in that if there were an emergency, we need to be able to immediately identify our students.  If students are wearing a variety of coats covering their uniform, we would not be able to quickly surmise who is or is not an RMA student.
