Covid-19 Resources

9/10/21 UPDATE:

Parents and school employees, we have good news on the COVID-19 testing front.

Starting Friday, September 10th, the new testing site located at John H. Marble Park will begin offering the PCR rapid test. The PCR rapid tests are free and results are generally available within one hour or less.  This PCR rapid test is approved for asymptomatic students needing to test to return to school from a quarantine.

The Marble Park site is located at 3675 53rd Avenue East in Bradenton and is only open for School District employees, students (Including Rowlett Middle Academy students), and Manatee County Government Employees. School or district ID must be shown to be tested. The site is open daily Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In addition, the School District is working with MCR Health to set up two additional testing sites starting this coming Monday, September 13th:

The sites are:

• Manatee Elementary School MCR Health Center at 1609 6th Ave E., in Bradenton, and;
• Southeast High School MCR Health Center, at 1200 37th Avenue E., in Bradenton

These sites are open for school employees and children attending Manatee District schools. School or district ID must be shown to be tested at the MCR Health sites, which run Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  No appointment is needed.

These testing sites will use approved COVID-19 Rapid tests that provide results within 15 minutes. In addition, these sites will also provide PCR tests, which take two to three days for a result. The MCR Health testing is free and will require a consent form completed prior to testing.
Additionally, as of Wednesday 9/8/21, Rowlett Middle Academy can only accept the following COVID-19 tests, per the Florida Department of Health, for children placed on quarantine who are not exhibiting any COVID-related symptoms. The tests are as follows:
• The Ellume COVID-19 Home Test, or
• Any PCR COVID-19 test administered by a healthcare provider or County testing site

If a quarantined student remains symptom-free and receives a negative test result from one of the above tests, they can return to school on the fifth day or later of their quarantine. Please find the list of approved tests on our district website on the Back-to-School page.

If you have any questions about COVID-19 testing, please call the Florida Department of Health Manatee at (941) 748-0747.

Additional testing locations can be found on the MyManatee website.
